Saigon

Back to Bkk tomorrow, so thought I'd check in and see how you're all doing. Ok I hope? Let me know. Meanwhile I have the following question:

Why is it impossible to enter a quiet bar with a lovely atmosphere, begin chatting, and NOT be suddenly assaulted with a barrage of noise as the sub-standard "entertainment" kicks in?

More of this enlightened guff soon. I will also give full acount of our adventures in the land of the dong.

Be good.

  1. There's a pub in liverpool called the Monroe, you probably know it? It does really good food but also there's no TV and no jukebox in the bar area. It's blissful.

  2. Hello Russell and Lyn, I have great news ...

We have received our dossier numbers from the French Govt. We are OFFICIALLY REGISTERED !!! They want some papers from us but it looks very good ... PLEASE HOLD THUMBS FOR US ...!!!

I cried the day we got the letters as the embassy said it could take months before we got word from them !!!

I went to have some tests done on my lungs ... a bronchioscope and a gastroscope ... nothing horrible in my lungs and no ulcers in my tum or oesophagus ... but I have to go for breathing lessons as my blood chemicals are all messed up ...

Did an xray ... both my lungs and heart are large and very strong ... go figure. LOL!!!

Well chat later and it sounds like you guys had fun ... send some pics ...

    Hugs

  3. Alex: I'll try it out next time I'm in town. No, never been there.

Odette: We're pleased for you. No idea what "holding thumbs" involves. Do I hold Ly's and she holds mine? Bizarre.

All: Large blog on my trip home, Lyn and Suzi's trip to Thailand, and all things South Vietnamese is imminent. Things included therein: Various parties, way too much food and drink, odious fellow travellers, British weather, Thai weather, squash, pool, youth hostels, bicycle piano's, Kendal Mint Cake, British beer, Thai beer, new boyfriends, caravans, software, hardware, firmware, cows, bazookas, tunnels and so much more.
