..with a capital letter, in this case "O" for "Oh dear, tomorrow I start 26 days on a rusty climbing frame in the middle of the ocean. I think I'm going to die."
It's not too bad really. Food's good, money's good, beer's good (dream on) and I get to take big steps towards finishng this job.

You cant do anything, without having to do something else first. Very profound statement.

Tis time to start growing veg and the slugs are the first to move in ... all advice welcome. Have hear of bran ... and tinfoil ... now you boffins out there please tell me how and why this is the best method ... Thanks

ReplyDelete"MO campaign" stepping up a notch and these steriods are finally working on my chest infection ...
God speed on your return
Have fun chief, in case you start feeling a bit down, remember these words once said by the deeply wise man Mahatma Gandhi: "Blow your nose, pull up yer socks and stop grumbing, I can't abide effin moaning, you great big puff!!".....it was one of his lesser known quotes.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, someone once said to me "Grin and bank it!"
Related to your last blog saw the word Dubai and thought of an article I saw in the paper the other week.
ReplyDelete"A television network is trying to make the Flintstones a hit on Dubai TV but apparently they do not understand the humour but the people of Abudabido"!!!!:-)
Mart
See you back home soon and keep your chin up, you have something to look forward to and I have some ideas from Odette as to a birthday pressie!!
Lucy
Helpful advice from one and all - and a useable joke too. Thanks Mart, that made me chuckle. I immediately began telling it to all the Thai's but was met with blank stares, bless them.
ReplyDeletePaul, I am G.A.B -ing happily thanks, it's only crocodile tears. Hope Thales are treating you right.
Lucy, I can't imagine what suggestions you could take from Odette's Afrikaans ramblings, but I look forward to receiving many gifts on my return.
Odette that thing about doing stuff before doing other stuff was really quite profound, in fact I've stored it and will drop it casually into conversation next time profundity is required.
New blog entry coming in a few days, including my birthday wishlist....
Helllooo...
ReplyDeleteHow goes it oh sea-faring stranger? Your last postings were more optimistic and your mates have lost of sound advice ... I like the grin and bank it ... Methinks I may use it in my terribly mundane job.
Good news on all fronst, Jessica is recovering from her huge operation the poor girls is slit from throat to tail (well almost) but its healing nicely. Maggies is still as daft as a brush which helps endlessly ... LOL. The MO Campaign has stepped up a notch with two dates and a walk up the mountain in Killaloe. Great fun both very nice men. Total opposites though so I have some exciting times ahead of me. After the walk I made Mushroom Risotto for Liam and he thought he had died and gone to heaven, I'm still from the old school who believes the way to a mans heart is thru his stomach ... Well I also believe if you have him by the whatsits his heart will soon follow but not being one for subtle approaches I have the try the first LOL!!!
My oldest friend always maintains that men are like tiles ... if you lay them right the first time you can walk over them for life ... very subtle dont you think ... ???
Anyway Im trying to sort the house a bit more, only 1 day left off work so no point in wasting it.
Take care dear heart and dont be afraid to abuse the gym equipment !!!
Dear Lynny,
Dont fret about Russell, you know how he loves cramped quarters and endless work ... he is only tugging your heartstrings ... Hope Uni is going well, take care and chat soon. I will try call later.
Bye
