Going home today, for a night and a day.
It's to pick up my mountain bike so I can start riding it over here. Trip costs same as new bike, so why not?

- Being the further adventures of Russell and Lyn, as we finally get round to building our dream home. Warning: includes owls.
Wow are you sure?
ReplyDeleteApart from the sun beaming down on your baldy head toasting your remaining brain cell(s) (...hats don't work either they just become a steam cooker stuck on your bonce) there is the risk of getting mown down on the roads?
Thailand is the most dangerous place on the Planet for Brits. More die here than anywhere else on the roads. 49 people die here every day on motorcycles.
Mountain bikes same same without engine!
DHL? or are you so desperate tp sit on an aeroplane / airport for like 20 hours...Are you just looking for excuses to go home eh? I supposee you'll do back next week for your 'helmet'
ReplyDeletethats what i thought....... me thinks the end is nigh!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou in dubai yet?????????
ReplyDeleteHats, bonces, lots of question marks...that you Bob? Get a google account or it just comes up as anonymous. If it is you, nice to hear from you. If it isn't, then who is it? Who's in Thailand that calls me baldy?
ReplyDeleteSandy, DHL were going to charge 1300 GBP. Excuses to go home? Yes indeed, absolutely. I'm back at work now after a dreamy weekend.
Damn, forgot my shades...
Ahh I haven't gotten a Google account so that's why? Anyway yes its bad enough walking around in the heat for any distance without shade? I am commissioning a BMS in Maptaphut and the car park is 1 km from the MCC room. Not so bad in the morning but in the afternoon.... A hard hat or baseball cap tends to trap the sweat as it comes off your head and you have a nice steam oven cooking the old grey matter.
ReplyDeleteHere motorcycling and biking is much better and a lot safer as even during rush hour the roads are not so busy. There are fields and trees, grassy hills and the feeling of space,
Maptaphut, very nice. I could do with some time out of the city. You got the bike down there?
ReplyDeleteJust taken it back as PTT have totaled the bike sheds in favour of a Waste Treatment Plant! All day in the sun doesn't do the bike any good?
ReplyDeleteThe back roads in Maptaphut are really sweet. Wide three lane carriageways in places with less cars I got to using 5th gear regularly too.
To be honest for Oil & Gas this is where its at. All of the core petrochemical plants are down here and its a quieter place to live. The sea is about 2 km from where I am staying, which is a 208 sqm apartment next to a golf course. Bigger and cheaper than my place in BKK.
I think I've just found a new role model -

epic night out....
Yes I can imagine you in that scene, but instead of straddling the plane in a pink stetson, you'd have been locked in the toilet or something.
